I am currently mentoring under a PhD student working on extracting hydrogen from alkanes catalyzed by organometallic complexes. Specifically, the project focuses on synthesizing complex organometallic structures that act as catalysts for the production of H2, which is a developing fuel source in fuel cells. Over the next fourteen months I will be researching the validity of various metals in such metal complexes to hopefully lower the costs associated with hydrogen production than current methods.

As a lead sales associate I had the responsibility to open and close the store during my working shifts, then insuring large cash deposits made it to the proper location. Additionally, being the employee in charge for my shifts meant I had to be very knowledgeable of pool chemicals' makeup, uses, and how to deal with emergency situations should they present themselves (such as acid spills or awareness of oxidizer's capabilities to ignite other materials). In combination to an abundance of chemical and safety knowledge, I gained experience working with the public by making pool supply sales at the registers before becoming a lead sales associate.
