My role as VP of Engineering entailed me leading our Origination Processing stream. We were responsible for loan allocation and prioritization, vendor service, document generation and closing/eClosing. A large part of our mission was around legacy system migration and digital transformation using microservice architecture. My role as Senior Director, Product Engineering entailed me leading an Agile Release Train of 150+ team members consisting of cross-functional engineering teams that supported the growth and transformation of our products.This group was responsible for loan allocation and prioritization, compliance, appraisal data, vendor service, Title, and closing/eClosing. My direct reports included Directors, Team Leaders, Software Architects, and a Release Train Engineer.Team’s focused on moving legacy system capabilities to the cloud (AWS), run the business work, and tech enablement work to keep our systems up to date and healthy. Ran SAFe ceremonies like, Program Increment Planning, Train demo’s, and ART syncs.

Led 5 cross-functional engineering teams made up of Software Engineers, Business Analyst, Quality Engineers and Software Architects.Mentored and coached Team Leader’s to drive our culture, develop their team members, and to be accountable to meeting commitments. A main focus was to remove key functionality from our legacy Loan Origination system into micro services. • One large success was removing the functionality for automated underwriting to a central location. Technical lead on the creation, implementation, and roll out of the Rocket Mortgage Application.• Facilitated core team sync up to review work, discuss issues, and to clear roadblocks.• Ensured key milestones were being hit throughout the project.• Worked with teams to find solutions that met the parameters of the project.

My role entailed leading a team of software engineers that supported our Loan Origination and Lead Allocation system.• Mentored and coached team members with a focus on team member growth and their career progression. • Promoted software development best practices and proper testing.• Maintain and help prioritize the product backlog along with stakeholders.• Clear impediments and help refine stories.• Created a strong culture of ownership and working as team.• The team consisted of both on-site and remote team members across multiple time zones. • Performed annual performance reviews.

Enhanced and maintained Rocket Mortgage’s Loan Origination Loan Allocation CRM system.Designing, testing, and implementing new software.• Designed the display and accuracy of products and pricing and fees.• Designed the UI and navigation of the system.• Implemented an app call router to direct incoming calls to the right banker.• Maintained and enhanced identity management and banker licensing in the system.Mentored and trained other engineers.Conducted code reviews.Lead debugging efforts to identify root cause of issues.

Created, enhanced and maintained Rocket Mortgage’s Loan Origination Loan Allocation CRM system. This application was responsible for the intake of lead submissions, lead scoring, prioritization, and allocation, along with CTI functionality, marketing campaigns, and loan qualification.
