Profile bio

About Kevin Swaney

I am a consultant with an extensive background in the upstream oil and gas industry. My experience includes, but is not limited to change implementation, communications, training and development, special projects and the various accounting responsibilities inherent with an accounting department. I believe it is important to ensure people are growing and learning while improving their communications with other departments and field personnel. I enjoy working with others to achieve a common goal. A few examples of my work history include the following:- During my last two managerial positions I taught my staff the basics of auditing Wells (AFE’s). Through this process we established a check system to ensure all capital equipment, invoices, and overhead were properly charged to AFE’s. This process required the field personnel and engineers to buy in to the changes and agree to their new responsibilities. The error rate for invoice coding dropped 80%, job satisfaction increased and we were able to release three consultants costing nearly $40,000 a month.- Through establishing a good rapport with our field office and several of our vendors we were able to streamline our procedures by utilizing, repairing, and junking some of our capital equipment. We also set up a new tubular program with one of our vendors saving us over $30,000 a month. In addition, I set up a new rental department for our company resulting in over $6M gross revenues our first year. We also improved our budgeting process. - Starting my new position as operations accounting manager I inherited a staff of 17 people. It was quite obvious there were personnel issues and the communications with the other departments was less than adequate. I immediately sent out a survey to the other departments and field personnel to have a better grasp of the underlying issues. Although it took time, we were able to improve our rapport and communications. The personnel issues were resolved over time.

Listed skills include Goal Oriented Individual With Strong Leadership Capabilities, Management, Creative Problem Solving, Communication Skills, and 19 others.
