As a Software Engineer at Currenex, I worked on several projects, including implementing a Market Surveillance platform, improving / implementing DevOps processes, improving code and infrastructure for performing system load testing, and redeveloping the SDLC lifecycle process for a new Version Control platform.As part of the Market Surveillance development team, I helped develop the core framework for running processes and generating alerts, and I added and improved tooling to deploy, monitor, and run the system. I was responsible for the operations of the system on an ongoing basis.

During my time as an Automation Engineer, I worked with the development team to improve automated testing and worked as part of the Market Surveillance development team.I implemented the ticketing system and workflow used by the Market Surveillance team to track surveillance alerts and cases generated by the surveillance system. I also acted as part of the development team to implement the integration into the ticketing system, as well as improving the overall functionality of the system.

Currenex is a software development firm which publishes a software platform for foreign currency exchange. As an intern, I worked on 3 major projects at Currenex: optimizing and maintaining a PHP application used by QA, building an automated testing framework for our company’s iPhone application, and automating one of our company’s web applications using a tool called Selenium.For the iPhone Automation project, I used a library called MonkeyTalk to drive the iPhone application through scripts. The simple scripts were written in a scripting language, and more advanced scripts were written in JavaScript. I wrote scripts to log in to the application, place, cancel, and modify orders, and also modify settings. I then wrote over 100 test cases to test various features of the application.The most recent project was automating one of our company’s web applications using a tool called Selenium. I have written over 130 tests for the application, including creating and editing different types of users, as well as resetting passwords and logging in.

I wrote the majority of the HTML, JavaScript, and CSS frontend, as well as the custom PHP framework/API to the database backend on top of Amazon’s EC2, which processes data, and exports web pages. I architected the schemas and data model, and the PHP/MySQL code which serializes objects for storage. I also implemented the mercurial-based revision control scheme, which is used for automated deployment to both testing and production servers.
