The National Urban League (NUL) is a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment, equality, and social justice. In my role as Senior Director, I secure public and private funding and design workforce-related programs that help participants in underserved communities grow career-related skills and obtain jobs, with a focus on youth and young adults.• Successfully launched three pilot workforce development initiatives that assist youth and young adults in 16 affiliate locations. These programs impacted over 1500 youth and young adults and exposed approximately 900 to workforce experiences. • Secured $14 million in public and private grants to fund workforce development programs.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is a national non-profit intermediary connecting public and private resources with underinvested places to provide people with economic opportunities. As Senior Program Officer, I managed grant-funded capital improvement projects in low-income neighborhoods to enhance and increase green and recreation space for youth. • Managed a grant-making portfolio of over $6 million annually for corporate clients including the National Football League, ESPN, Under Armour, and the Arthur Blank Foundation. • Served as liaison between the Sports & Recreation department and 26 LISC local offices, providing support and training on program initiatives, communication protocols, and proposal evaluations. • Produced a comprehensive research survey to analyze the NFL Foundation Grassroots Program’s community impact on selected neighborhoods, resulting in a $1 million increase in program funding.• Appointed co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion committee, and created a company-wide day of service volunteer event and quarterly speaker series. • Selected by CEO to lead internal sub-committee to develop organization-wide DEI metrics, resulting in five new program-focused metrics implemented into the organization's strategic plan.
