Khalid A. Hashmi graduated with Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, and SAIT Calgary. He joined Canadian Public Service in 1978 and over the years, he took many business and technical courses to keep update with the new skills. He is Manager of Separation Technologies at the Canadian government R&D Center, CanmetENERGY, Natural Resources Canada. He has over 35 years of experience of developing technologies; providing training at the educational institutions and industry. He is principle inventor of the CANMET hydrocyclone, widely used in oil operations.Over the years, he has developed expertise in the areas of Energy Audit and Alternative Fuel, particularly in Solar Energy and Alternative Fuels. He has taught short courses organized by Continue Education of the NED Engineering University.
