Legal 500 (2021) - infrastructure specialist ‘rising star’.I am delighted to have recently joined BBV JV HS2 as Head of Legal, as part of the exceptional and long-standing joint venture delivering the Lots N1 and N2 packages for the client HS2 Limited. Lots N1 and N2 involve the delivery of approximately 90km of high-speed track including the boring of some record-breaking tunnels and the construction of 51 viaducts over 13 km, in the process creating career opportunities and business growth in the construction industry and the wider economy of the West Midlands.HS2 is the UK's largest single infrastructure project transforming the nationwide rail network, forecast during delivery to create over 34,000 jobs nationwide and a long-term skills legacy for the UK engineering and construction industry.I join BBV JV as an English qualified solicitor, a specialist in transactional (non-contentious) construction law and in particular in NEC and FIDIC contracting, following 16 years in private practice. I have acted for clients and the supply chain on major infra and construction projects (particularly in the transport, nuclear new build and decommissioning, solid waste and commercial property development sectors) in the UK and internationally. I spent around 8 years (3.5 years in-house) at EDF Energy as a legal adviser in the NNB Genco team developing and implementing the procurement strategy for Hinkley Point C.
