As part of my masters program, I completed a nine month long capstone project in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy (TNC). I worked with three other graduate students and two TNC staffers to develop a toolkit of recommendations for the City & County Denver to create a healthier, more resilient, and equitable urban forest. To develop the toolkit, my student team interviewed over 50 stakeholders from 15 U.S. cities to identify strategies and promising practices for optimizing collaboration, coordination, and equity in urban forestry initiatives. Additionally, our recommendations were informed by an in-depth literature review of 178 documents. I helped manage three main project deliverables as well as communication between 50+ stakeholders, project partners, and team members. In February 2022, we presented our findings at the Denver Urban Forestry Roundtable event with an audience of 80 professionals working in urban forestry, parks and recreation, landscape architecture, nonprofits, and more. Additionally, our team was nominated and selected to present at CU Boulder's 29th Annual Campus Sustainability Summit in April 2022.
