In my role as Program Analyst under the Development Manager, I create applications, evaluate project proposals, and identify funding opportunities for Harris County. I serve as the primary contact for applicants seeking funding, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines throughout the project lifecycle—from application submission to award.Key responsibilities include:Analyzing complex, multi-disciplinary problems for long-term planning.Managing program-specific application processes and maintaining documentation.Reviewing and evaluating proposals and applications.Composing and managing funding/grant proposals and official correspondence.Conducting quality assurance and compliance monitoring in line with HUD, State, and County regulations.Preparing agenda items for Commissioners Court and attending relevant meetings.Processing records related to the Annual Action Plan and responding to information requests.

Developed and managed components of the City’s budget along with assisting in the development of policies and procedures for the Multifamily Buyout Program. Trained and developed staff on policy and procedures in alignment with the City’s Acquisition and Relocation Plan through Disaster Recovery Funds. Coordinated timely submittal of tenant files internally and to the General Land Office. Developed and implemented metrics to track project performance and made recommendations on areas to sustain and improve processes. Responsible for the reimbursement aspects of the program funds from GLO, retrieving $1.5M out of the $6.5M spent for project delivery of tenant payments with $4.5M pending with Finance for submission to GLO as of December 2023. Work directly with the Division Manager to assist with managing multiple projects and tasks. Serves as a Liaison between my department and the Compliance and Appeal division.

Determine eligibility and process applications for public assistance through client interviews. Educated clients on the utilization of all services offered and make referrals to other outside organizations. Established and maintain working relationships with other community organizations while collaborating on projects to help clients sustain housing and prevent homelessness.

Worked with at-risk youth to offer at-risk youth community-based mental health and prevention services that utilize a resiliency-oriented and trauma-informed framework and educate about substance abuse and other high-risk activities.
