In the summer of 2014, I purchased and took over sole management of a locally owned, year round outdoor fitness business for women. ★ Successfully re-branded the business and created a positive advantageous brand reputation. ★ Provided mentor-ship and coaching to women experiencing health and wellness issues, encouraging clients to not equate their worth to physical appearance. ★ Managed full project and client relationship life-cycle; developed project plans, launched programs, spearheaded service improvements, and managed service level agreements. ★ Defined, developed, and delivered new programs for clients, events, as well as, successful digital marketing campaigns. ★ Recruited, trained, and lead a successful group of employees. ★ Created and initiated employee policies and procedures. Notable Achievements: ★ Created, implemented, and managed a twenty-five participant women’s wellness workshop that included five different vendors and five guest speakers.★ Managed the sold-out premiere event of the documentary, “Embrace”, this event encouraged a body positive philosophy for attendees in the local Richmond area. Spoke before an audience of over one-hundred to describe importance of documentary and how it can impact local philosophy toward body image. ★ Planned, marketed and carried out multiple open houses that collaborated with complimentary local service providers and wellness vendors to boost local branding, while also raising money for the local YWCA. ★ Chosen to participate in interview for podcast, ‘Next Tuesday.’ Shared expert knowledge on the effects of body image on health and wellness and how to maintain a positive overall image. ★ Selected to speak on local news cast regarded Diva Bootcamp’s philosophy on fitness, health, wellness and how the company can help encourage individual positive growth in those areas.

In 2011 I followed an inkling that had been whispering in my ear for a decade, I became a certified Massage Therapist. Drawn to wellness, holding space for others, and being self employed, I enrolled in a massage program that focused on medical massage. During my education and my subsequent practice as a massage therapist, I became more fully appreciative of our inherent need for self care, for nurturing, and rest. As a massage therapist, I focused on creating a safe, judgement free zone to promote an area in which people could relax, de-stress, and focus on alleviating chronic pain symptoms. Sessions with clients were custom tailored to client's specific and unique goals. As a business owner:-Created and facilitated a local monthly networking group tailored specifically to local Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers-Launched a specialized massage therapy business. -Provided clients with a safe and soothing space to experience relief from stress and pain. -Partnered with clients to achieve health and wellness goals. -Developed graphics for print & digital marketing campaigns and local advertisement. -Oversaw and constructed social media marketing campaigns. Built unique company branding projects such as contests, giveaways, and sponsorships. -Responsible for bookkeeping, payroll, and cost control. -Developed and managed new sales strategies to increase business and market share.But most importantly and what I'm most proud of is creating a program where I partnered with the Richmond YWCA to provide pro-bono chair massages to both the YWCA case workers and the victims of intimate partner violence/sexual assault that utilized the YWCA's services.

During and after college I spent a chunk of time waiting tables at high volume, fast paced restaurants so I could fund and pursue my love of travel. A few of the places I explored:-Backpacked numerous times in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico-Backpacked in Israel and the West Bank (ask me about the time I was stranded in the Negev Desert on the way to Egypt!) -Road-tripped through France and Spain -Lived in the Bahamas for 3 months where I became SCUBA open water certified and helped snorkelers on guided tours-Traveled to Montserrat, British West IndiesA continued life long passion for travel, for meeting new people, embracing new cultures, and understanding our shared humanity has fueled my wanderlust, empathy, open mindedness, and relationship building skills. Tactically, traveling abroad helped me hone logistical planning, resourcefulness, and self reliance. Between my adventures, I cut my teeth waiting tables, hostessing, and cooking in popular, fast paced , high volume restaurants. Serving in high volume restaurants is where I learned the incredible value of working together as a team, multi-tasking, thinking quickly on my feet, and anticipating the needs of others.
