How do my 3 years of experience in PR/advertising contribute to the next chapter of my design career? With my past experience giving me valuable insight into consumer experience and social strategy, I began to question for myself, what I consume, who my community is, and how I am influenced by media day-to-day.It turns out that I consume and am influenced by a few things: hands-on design, comics, books (currently perched on a bridge between science fiction and design anthropology), and video games. Bottom line? I'm this extremely dedicated, creative nerd whose brain is always thinking about how to improve systems. I really love how new media has allowed for accessibility and community engagement. It has not only opened up new areas of artistic skill and expression for me, but also allowed me to connect with other people who share similar interests. The trends of our consumers are just as important as those happening in my community. I aim to highlight diverse representation in the media and industries that matters to me–whether it's healthcare, fashion, or gaming–from the perspective of a creative and a woman of color. I'm looking forward to see what I create next, and I hope you are too.
