Program Manager - Youthful Offender Rehabilitation ProgramSecond Chance Jul 2009 - Aug 2015San Diego, CaI was the Program Manager working with the county's most severe and chronic juvenile offenders.• I managed a team of nine counselors working with the county’s highest level juvenile offenders delivering evidence-based and best-practices CBT group curricula; additionally, individualized counseling and case management were provided in a program designed to help juveniles successfully transition from incarceration through to termination of probation.• I sourced, developed and implemented appropriate evidence based and best practices curricula for my team and supervised the delivery and quality control.o Groups include Substance Abuse/Relapse Prevention, Parenting, Aggression Replacement Training, Healthy Relationships, Life Skills that include financial literacy and basic health, and Moral Reconation Therapy, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, and work readiness.• I sourced, implement and delivered all staff staff training.• I was responsible for the fiscal oversight and planning of a $1,086,000 per annum budget.• I coordinated and developed relationships between Probation Department, Juvenile Court and Community Schools, County Mental Health, Health and Human Services Agency, Planned Parenthood, and other community based organizations such as South Bay Community Services, North County Lifeline and Metro.• I maintained the program’s integrity by implementing and monitoring appropriate training, by hiring and providing supervision to a high level of professional staff, and by consistently monitoring the performance outcomes/expectations of the team. This included file reviews, semi-annual performance measurements, and setting individual and team goals.• A recent report by the Probation Department showed a MARKED decrease in juvenile recidivism by youth in our program. -
Project ManagerRegional Task Force On The Homeless Jan 2005 - Jun 2008San Diego. Ca• Organized three region-wide counts of street homeless people, mobilizing over 420 volunteers from the public and private sectors. Grew the project from an initial 98 volunteers and 124 areas covered, to over 420 volunteers and 180 areas covered in the region. Solicited and secured sponsors from the business community. Developed and produced the Regional Homeless Profile through the coordination of local service providers, our Homeless Management Information System, San Diego State’s Institute of Public health and independent demographers. Maintained a system of maps using ArcGIS.o Developed and implemented the training for all volunteers.• Organized, implemented and facilitated the fourth Project Homeless Connect in San Diego. Over 350 volunteers from agencies and the community volunteered on the day and we saw an attendance of over 750 people – almost four times the attendance of previous events. More than 13 new services were added to the day and over 3,000 services were rendered. The extensive use of the Internet in registration and volunteer coordination as well as the production of advertising materials contributed to the success of PHC.o Developed and implemented the training for all volunteers.• Organized the first ever San Diego regional forum and discussion on Street Homeless youth enumeration which will lead to a region-wide count and survey of street homeless youth.• Produced and implemented a web-based resource guide incorporating Google Maps. Expanded this resource by coordinating with regional and faith based collaborative.
