Stainless steel welding/fabrication contract work for companies like GEA, Tira Crown Sheet metal, Hydramech, Pentair.

Worked for a lighting tower company that supplies to BHP, GCS, Rio Tinto and many more. Large variety of work with 1mm up to 25mm mild steel. Duties included break press work, MIG & TIG, cutting/drilling, fitting and maintaining stock levels. My main role was MIG welding components such as hydraulic cylinders, chassis, axel’s, hand brake lever’s, post’s to hold a 3 stage boom assembly to hoist the lights up high, boom hoist’s. I also have had some time fitting hydraulic lines, bolting components, and running and fitting electrical cable. The unique thing about this work was the clean-up had to be perfect, no spatter or untidiness, to a level I have only done for stainless in the past. The challenge of moving from a light gauge stainless background to a heavy mild steel one has been a great learning experience, but I feel it’s time to move onto something more challenging.

Worked for a sign building company building mostly galvanised steel frames for large business sign’s, fitted with colourbond sheet’s for printing. Large variety of processes from fabricating post’s to MIG & TIG.

Worked two season’s at Alliance freezing works Lornville as a labourer in the Fellmongery. The job was mainly an intense labouring job handling wet sheep skins on a conveyor system. Job taken due to lack of engineering jobs in town and it being a very physical job which I enjoy.
