Kiersten is a highly motivated engineer who attended New York University where they graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. During their time at NYU, Kiersten held various leadership roles in NYU’s Robotic Design Team where they worked in embedded systems programming, electrical systems design, overall mechanical design, and general project management. With their contributions, Kiersten aided the team in gaining a top ten national finish in NASA’s Robotic Mining Competition, as well as NASA’s Innovation Award. In addition, Kiersten also held several leadership roles with NYU’s oSTEM chapter, an organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ people in STEM. Prior to starting their Junior year, Kiersten worked at Lavner Camps, designing lessons and teaching students an array of topics focused on computer science. After completing their Junior year, Kiersten began as an intern at IBM where they led the overall design and development of an internal tool and continued their internship through their Senior year. Upon graduation from NYU, Kiersten took on a full-time associate developer role at IBM where they worked as a front end developer and designer on an internal tool through IBM’s jumpstart program, receiving the Jumpstart Award for their team’s contributions. In addition, Kiersten held a technical program manager role focused on memory systems. Kiersten now works as a front end developer for the NHL. Outside of work, Kiersten has volunteered with oSTEM Inc. serving as the Conference Programming Chair where they lead the overall planning of the annual oSTEM Conference's programs.
