The Association of Netherlands Municipalities (Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten, VNG) represents all municipalities and supports and promotes the strength and quality of local administrations in the Netherlands.Tasks (a.o):- Representing interests of Netherlands municipalities with regards to the EU digital agenda, cross-border cooperation and Brexit;- Advising and supporting local politicians to the European Committee of the Regions and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (Council of Europe)- Secretary VNG advisory committee on European and international affairs- Coordinator BNC- Several tasks on exchange of knowledge and experience

The VNG-traineeship is a two-year programme for young professionals in the public sector. The traineeship contains of secondments within the public sector (mainly local government) and weekly training on personal development. Secondments:nov. 2018 - may 2019: local democracy, Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG)may 2019 - dec. 2019: care and safety / work and income, municipality Oegstgeestjan. 2020 - nov. 2020: EU affairs, Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG)

Second secondment as a project advisor Care and Safety and policy advisor Work and Income within the VNG-traineeship. Tasks (a.o.):- Preparation decision-making on creation and development of a Care and Safety house in the region Hollands Midden- Knowledge sharing Care and Safety House and implementation of Compulsory mental healthcare act (Wvggz)- Organising regional events with regards to decision-making process and knowledge sharing- Adjusting local policy work and income

First secondment as a policy advisor on local democracy within the traineeship of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG).Tasks (a.o.):- Research local digital democracy - Supporting secretary tasks VNG-advisory committee on local councillors and clerks- Several tasks on development of a Quick Scan on Local Democracy
