Kim Perry is a third year student at Flinders University, undertaking a Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) (Honours). He has completed additional elective study in biodiversity and conservation, and is currently undertaking a research placement focusing on karrikin molecules in pyrolysis products and their agricultural applications. Scientific fields of interest include plant biotechnology including genetic modification for agricultural and space horticultural applications, synthetic biology, cellular agriculture, tissue culturing, and research into de-extinction technologies. Kim desires to make positive contributions to the future of humanity, with an emphasis on conservation to reduce the impact of agricultural and horticultural practices on the environment. Outside of university education, Kim is the current and founding president of the Music Enthusiasts club at Flinders University, which has offered great opportunity to develop strong leadership and communication skills while exploring his musical passion.
