I worked as part of the Compliance team to conduct auditing and monitoring activities to be in compliance with the CMS Protocol. I assigned, monitored, and tracked the plan's contractor training to ensure those who are contracted with PHP and have access to patient data follow Compliance, Privacy and Security standards. I was recently the lead compliance representative in two projects which include organization of department activities and implementation of transition work processes. In this position I worked as part of the revenue cycle team to monitor clinic claim processing, problem solve any errors or notification of nonpayment, understanding HCPCS and CPT codes, and reviewing patient account balances. This included the use of fund to reduce patient balances with approval from the Director of Revenue Cycle and continuing to develop my customer service skills in discussions with patients regarding their account and with insurance companies to understand why claims were denied or paid at a reduced rate. Additionally, I performed a quarterly task which required the examination of all Medicare paid claims for overpayment and producing a report to CMS timely.
