MY CAREER STORY: In my early college years, I worked in retail while going to school. I came across this temp job that was in a nice business office and I had no idea this project was leasing office space from CF Motor Freight. This temp job lead me right on into the freight industry. CF shared to the temp service they were interested in me becoming one of their Account Managers for their new training class that was about to start at their AMC -Account Management Training Center. This company was at the TOP at their training center. CF set a solid foundation in my career. As I got further down the road, I discovered I really enjoyed the fast pace, problem solving, think way outside the box while learning something new every day. Throughout my career I handled countless customer orders and special request. I handled many projects (cradle to grave). I later entered into the Domestic Freight Forwarding business at EGL (Eagle Global Logistics/ SCG./CEVA) to learn about time critical and sensitive handlings of domestic, airfreight, warehousing and hub operations. This is where I really expanded out into the industry and grew even more working in the Freight Forwarding Industry. A typical day of customer request was always of high sense of urgency even if the request was for economy service, they needed it picked up and off their dock the day the order dropped so the customer would get credit for that month. We had to make it happen "yesterday" mentality and manage all order request to help keep it a seamless execution. No room for errors or lets say if oversights are made or not caught, it could be COSTLY in a freight movement. Experiences throughout my career included: 3PL, LTL, FTL, PTL, Warehousing, Domestic ground & Domestic Air Freight, Local P&Ds, Hotshots, Intermodal, International and White Glove Services. Our customers were always reliant on us to "MAKE IT HAPPEN! I developed many loyal partnerships and even friendships along the way who trusted my traffic decisions and suggestions". I have now joined Talon Freight Service in 2024 (Family owned & Operated), 33 years now in my career. We are a truckload brokerage company that provides all hands on deck attitudes and our goal is to always leave our customers in the know. We may not always be the cheapest but we will get it done for our customers and keep our rates within current market value that is always changing where we can keep these drivers on the loads. When we have a strong, loyal partnership and collaborate together, we ALL grow together and it's a WIN-WIN for everyone.
