"The Work Shop" was set up as a ground breaking new employment and skills hub to assist the $1.8 billion construction of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH). The project, funded by Lend Lease and the Sunshine Coast Council, was a first of its kind in Australia. My role was to establish the recruitment division and contractor relationships onsite from scratch. I incorporated a high quality end-to-end recruitment process based around communication, honesty and adding genuine value to contractors and jobseekers. I established and maintained relationships with Lend Lease staff and contractors, to understand the complex workforce requirements and project timelines to meet demands with their staffing requirments. In addition, I coordinated equal-opportunity programs to assist disadvantaged jobseekers find employment.My role also involved building relationships with key stakeholders, the local employment and skills industry and the local community. This included running events, as well as attending events, forums and networking functions as "The Work Shop" representative. I was also responsible for marketing and PR including development of a newsletter, contractor and jobseeker brochures, social media, promotional items, staff uniforms, campaigns and events. In addition, I set up the recruitment KPIs complex reporting and analysis for management and key stakeholders. I managed a very active database of local jobseekers as well as the recruitment, training and workflow of my team to ensure contractor requirements were always met within time frames and with great satisfaction.
