My teaching career began in 2017 and has included teaching at Chapman University, College of Southern Nevada, and my current position at Arizona College School of Nursing. I love teaching and my student seem to love me in return. I have great rapport with my coworkers and students. To hone my teaching skills I have earned a Certificate in College Teaching from Vanderbilt University and recently became a Certified Online Instructor (COI).I earned a PhD in Molecular Medicine and Translational Science at Wake Forest School of Medicine in the lab of Dr. Thomas D. DuBose Jr. My undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia were in Biology and Genetics. I completed postdoctoral fellowships at Vanderbilt University and Chapman University. My research was conducted in the labs of established nephrologists where I focused on a spectrum of disease processes and signaling mechanisms, using a variety of biochemical and genetic methods. I am interested in the delineation of signaling pathways from ligand to receptor to intracellular molecules to phenotypic and genotypic effect. I have ample experience with cell culture, mice models, PCR, HPLC, mass spectrometry, immunofluorescence, and immunoblots. Along with my research, I aspire to be an effective and successful teacher. I pride myself in being able to present my data to a broad audience via effective and elaborate poster and Powerpoint presentations along with excellent verbal communication. I am so happy that these skills translated well into being a great professor.
