Collaborated with the vice provost, career services, and academic departments to develop the advising office from the ground up, to include all policies and procedures, advising handbook, training, etc. Assessed student outcomes and implemented changes as necessary.Taught lectures in first year experience course for freshman engineering students incorporating On Course principles, peer mentors, and campus resources. Developed, coordinated, facilitated, and assessed an academic recovery course utilizing eight faculty and ten peer mentors. Supervised faculty and professional advisors and together provided academic, personal, and professional advising for over 300 undergraduate undecided and academically deficient students to ensure degree progression and timely return to appropriate academic department. Performed degree audits and acted as the liaison assisting students in need of substitute courses, repetition of courses, special circumstances, and referred students to appropriate resources for assistance as needed. Coordinated, facilitated, and assessed faculty advisor developmental resources, training workshops, and advising manual. Training programs included teaching and learning styles, FERPA, advising techniques, helicopter parents, and signs of distressed students.
