As a student of Emory University program of Ophthalmic Technology, I was afforded the opportunity to work with the Veterans Affairs Department of Ophthalmology as a visual field technician. i performed Humphrey Visual Field testing as ordered by physicians. Other duties included vision screening, measuring intraocular pressure, and instilling eye drops as ordered.

As a summer student worker, I performed all front end office duties. Daily tasks included check-in and check-out for all patients, dispensing glasses and contacts, working with insurance companies to make sure billing was received and all encounter forms completed properly and filed.*Created new filling system for paper charts to increase efficiency and storage space utilization. Resulted in after-hours office work time decrease.*Completed a complete inventory of all patient records and purged records as legally allowed.
