I've been writing about education and leadership since 2006 on a blog at kimberlymoritz.com. I've also had the opportunity to offer keynote addresses on leadership at blended learning conferences in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, New York and Texas. As a public school district superintendent, I was committed to making a significant difference in the education of our students. Despite the hype in the news, my experience has been that teachers are extremely hard working professionals who do the best that they know how. Leadership is what makes the difference for a district. How the leadership team works in setting the direction, implementing the right programs with solid follow through and motivating everyone from students to teachers and other employees determines the ultimate learning success for all students. Retired in January 2022 after 32 years in public education, 22 as a principal and superintendent, I’m currently an executive leadership coach. I support over 30 NYS educational leaders through monthly and bi-weekly meetings when we work on the topics that they deem most necessary to each personally. It’s one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
