Experienced entomologist with a demonstrated history of working in the farming industry. Strong research professional with a PhD from Cornell University focused on the ecology and evolution of plant-insect interactions. Have over fifteen years of experience in chemistry- and biology-based laboratory and field research, with high proficiency in entomology, chemical ecology, molecular biology, tissue culture, plant defense chemistry, conservation issues, scientific writing, as well as in the collection, statistical analysis, visualization and reporting of scientific data. I currently lead the field testing strategy for corn Lepidopteran pest insects in North and South America. This involves leading international teams of researchers, developing protocols, budgeting, and analysis/dissemination of data generated to drive development of our next-generation insect control products. I also provide scientific leadership in the rearing and testing of insect colonies to support pipeline assays and resistance monitoring and management efforts. I have experience rearing and assaying over ten agricultural pest insect species including red banded stink bug, corn earworm, fall armyworm, tobacco budworm, southwestern corn borer, and European corn borer. I enjoy using data science to unlock greater insights from the data we generate. I am highly passionate about researching plant-insect, plant-plant, and plant-pathogen interactions as well as helping to solve emerging pest issues in agricultural systems. I am also highly passionate about increasing the sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of agricultural practices.
