I am currently a Senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management with a collateral in Information Management. I have always been quick on my feet and adability is one of my biggest strengths. Working multiple jobs over the summer and traveling between cities to work has made me ready for the unexpected such as being called in or given a new task I always find ways to solve the issue. Some other strengths of mine are being restorative and giving input I enjoy being able to problem solve quickly, especially helpful because being part of many different organizations on campus makes you look at different problems all the time. For example, when my sorority could not figure out how to schedule volunteers I took the initiative to create a schedule and assign people to times. I would say the strength that stands out the most is my ability to command I am a very open person when it comes to my opinions and how things should be done. As president of my sorority, I always have to make sure we stay on task and complete our tasks efficiently and effectively. For our biggest event of the year which had over 300 attendees, I made sure to place sisters in need locations and assign them a list of tasks they needed to complete for the event to run smoothly. In the future, I would like to go into the recruiting industry and use my skills to promote diversity and inclusion. As someone who comes from a cultural background, I strive to help others understand and learn more about different cultures. It is always important to have some level of intercultural maturity so that you are respectful of other's beliefs and traditions. I have worked in advocating for change or understanding of the LatinX community before. Being part of the biggest Latin organization has given me opportunities to do this and helping my community grow is also one of my biggest goals. It is important to recruit thinking of the work culture and that person's culture and making sure it’s a right fit and that the potential employee feels comfortable within the company. I want to help make sure there is no bias in the job hiring process and that the company understands the importance of respecting cultural differences. I hope that in the near future, I can make a difference and help young students like me get an opportunity to make a difference.
