Research Assistant
CurrentI have been working as a research assistant with Dr. John Manis investigating mouse models of hyper-IgE syndrome (HIES). In this position I develop assays and experiments to collect scientific data. I have troubleshot experiment protocols to more efficiently generate large volumes of raw data. I'm in charge of maintaining an extensive mouse colony of several different strains of mice and developed and streamlined a record-keeping system for the colony. I analyze and process scientific findings using Excel and other scientific and statistical analytical software such as Prism and FlowJo and was able to characterize the phenotype of our experimental mice through my experiments and data analysis. In addition, I manage the day-to-day operations of the lab including training new lab members, maintaining lab inventory and serving as the primary contact person for outside vendors.
