Collected Skills & Knowledge Sets: Cybersecurity network analysis, endpoint detection and response, SONAR data analysis, BASH and PERL scripting, Matlab, HTML, JSON, PHP, MySql, Oracle SQL, LINUX, XEMACS, R, JMP, Eclipse, Workbench, VBA, GATE, Prodigy, Windows, Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Javascript, web portal design, DATA (organizing, cleaning, mining, analyzing, publishing, preserving), natural language processing (NLP), acoustic transmission loss models, logistics lifecycle simulation models, magnetic media systems, database and knowledge management systems, corporate information security, information retrieval, business intelligence research, statistical analysis, quality assurance, training, public speaking.The Navy introduced me to signal physics, Unix, data collection, analysis, preservation and quality assurance, while tempering my growth with a healthy dose of structure, duty, service and discipline. I developed a genuine concern and personal interest in the SONAR data we collected, becoming a classified librarian of ground truth and data archives. My interest in data preservation drove me to the Master of Information Studies (MSIS) program in search of greater depth and breadth of technical knowledge. I studied databases, data mining, modeling, scripting languages and programming in Java. I learned to use development environments and database visualizers, create my own HTML / PHP web site to host the javascript toys I created and how to preserve it all in DSpace or Fedora or store it on multi-media in a distributed, remote backup dark archive. Supporting a predictive analysis software startup effort was a rigourous test of mental agility requiring great flexibility and adaptability.
