In 2018, Kim was elected to the National Advisory Council for Americans for the Arts for her ground-breaking contributions to the creative economy.Kim has worked in the technology sector for nearly 20 years, establishing programs and initiatives at the intersection of creativity, intuition and innovation since 2008, including: producing Innovation City at SXSW Interactive with the Pittsburgh Technology Council and Carnegie Mellon University; publishing Inclusion, Innovation and Integrative Design, 2014 Creative Industries Research Study with the PTC and Richard Florida's research team at the University of Toronto; serving as a founding Advisory Board member of Remake Learning, a national infrastructure for youth maker practices, digital technologies, creative arts, early childhood education, and media production; managing the Pittsburgh Entertainment Technology Project, connecting innovative technology companies with the west-coast film industry; and the curating the 15 Minutes Gallery.
