Scope potential Capital Improvement Transportation projects within the Right of Way; prepare conceptual design using AutoCAD; research CCD cost data to prepare preliminary cost estimates. Work with CCD Regulatory group to ensure regulatory Requirements will be met or exceeded. During design, facilitate inter-agency project coordination with other City departments and outside agencies such as CDOT, FTA, Utility companies, project area stakeholders and consultants. Once a design option is selected, develop detailed engineering construction plans. This includes the design of roadway footprint and alignments, profiles, typical sections and cross sections that meet the requirements of Federal, State and City Standards and Policies. Prepare project special provisions that communicate design intent and construction requirements to the contractor.Manage construction project administration according to CCD General Contract Conditions. Attend preconstruction meetings to help ensure that the project team is moving toward the same goal. Attend field Project Status meetings with contractors and their sub tiers to compare actual progress to the construction schedule and help resolve problems encountered during daily construction operations. Coordinate with contractors and Project Inspectors to ensure that the project is built per specifications. Log, review and respond to RFIs, and shop drawings and other engineering submittals. Ensure that construction activities are coordinated with utilities and other project stakeholders. Process monthly pay applications and review and negotiate contractor submittals for Change Orders per PWERA requirements.
