Director Of Identity And StandardsCentre Jul 2021 - Sep 2023As Centre's Director of Identity and Standards, I architected, developed, and delivered Verite, a pioneering standard along with accompanying open-source libraries for privacy-preserving identity claims in finance. This initiative was not merely about building technology; it was about establishing a new benchmark for secure management of identity data financial transactions.I led improvements to Centre’s standards for USDC technical diligence and safety measures, including enhancements to USDC chain launch criteria. Notably, I led preparation of USDC for the "Merge," in which Ethereum transitioned from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake. I led cross-organizational technical efforts to establish a comprehensive release plan, conduct security audits, and develop necessary patches -- ensuring a smooth transition for the (at the time) 50 billion dollar asset. Additionally, I spearheaded the development of monitoring systems and automation processes to ensure strict compliance with OFAC SDN sanctions.I led Verite technical working groups focused on developing standards to enhance consumer protections in financial use cases, including open, interoperable travel rule protocols, regulatory-compliant identity and privacy best practices, secure cross-chain bridges, and consumer protection framework for decentralized finance. My role also included leading the multi-stakeholder World Economic Forum digital identity technical working group. Our work produced the WEF report "Reimagining Digital ID," which set a new standard for how governments, corporations, and individuals think about and interact with digital identities in financial contexts, paving the way for a more secure and privacy-respecting global infrastructure.
