I started at Marquis Aurbach Coffing as a runner in 1986 – the year I graduated high school. When I started, the firm only had five attorneys. There are over 40 now. After working as a runner, I was able to gain experience as a file clerk, receptionist, and eventually a legal secretary. Everyone at the firm was very patient and spent a lot of time training me. I am especially grateful to Al Marquis, Susan Burrows and Mary Kaye LaDouceur. I’m sure it took a lot of work to get me up to speed. My job description has varied over the years. In addition to legal work, I assist with administrative and marketing tasks. Starting at an entry level position allowed me to gain knowledge in a variety of areas. I have been with the firm for over 28 years. I have worked directly with my boss/mentor/friend, Al Marquis, for over 26 years. Looking back over the years, I wouldn’t change a thing. My family of co-workers has been a big part of my life. They have helped me grow personally and professionally. I consider myself successful because I have been able to balance my family life with a career that I enjoy.
