After working nearly 6 years within different courts of law I got the amazing opportunity to lead the internal Law Office of a major collection company. The team includes approximately 15 professionals, of which 10+ lawyers or law students and 5 paralegals/specialists. The team handles litigation of disputed claims in the court of law and provides internal legal support for the collection operations in general.

The company was divided from Arkea Oy in order to answer to the growing demand of the public sector within the field of operation that Arkea Oy had prior to the division. My role was to act in the BoD until the newly established company was set-up and a new BoD would be selected.

Standard one-year court training period in the district court. The role, which is very common among Finnish lawyers and is, in reality, an unofficial requirement for appointments to many public offices, could be described as being an independent "junior judge" whose tasks and jurisdiction include judging minor financial cases and criminal offences. The year was very fun, educating, interesting, fun, gave me a lot of new close colleagues and made me a heck of a lot better lawyer, to be frank!

As a continuum to the operations manager role, I got the possibility to focus on ever so growing area of operational and financial interest, P2P. In other terms my position matched the previous position with respect to the outsourcing and financial management.

After the successful outsourcing project I got the opportunity to start leading the outsourcing unit’s operational branch. The operation is responsible annually for some 500 000 purchase invoices, 200 000 accounts receivable allocations and 37 month end closing monthly. Cargotec started up with a new technology called Sharepoint, for which I was responsible. My job was to manage the platform and the software vendors along with running several Sharepoint related software projects. This job taught me a lot about vendor management along with day-to-day co-ordination skills having a team of internal and external professionals. Several solutions that were created during my watch are still in use. The role was global.

My first job at Cargotec IM was to run a project about information security awareness and initiate IT risk management activities. The project was one of the first Cargotec wide endeavors regarding security culture and in bringing corporate message into the global business areas. Majority of the material and policies created back then are still in use. The role was global.

Lex Libri Oy is a small bookstore / catering service company. During this time the net sales were around 120k€. The company employs 2 fulltime and several part time employees. In addition to monitoring the governance and overall success of the company, the Board of directors was actively participating in business developement.

After the first summer at MacGREGOR my responsibilities expanded into a full time concept developer role. I was responsible for the IT part of a project that was developing global remote diagnostics for maritime use. The role included software specification, vendor management and project management. The work involved mainly Finnish and Swedish colleagues.

A Summer job as IT support person conducting also other office and administration related support activities. In addition to Meriaura, I also worked with Pernotrans Oy, which was a part of the same group.
