Kim and I started writing later in life but the idea for our first book developed back in the early 1980's but lived in our minds until it finally started to take written shape in 2013. This first book took us fifteen months to write but has been a true collaboration and learning experience for both of us. We both come from very different backgrounds, having found success in our respective careers. It was this difference in perspectives that provided a lot of the inspiration for our writing. It has not always been easy to collaborate together given our busy work schedules, but because this was something we were passionate about, we put our efforts together on evenings and weekends to make it happen. A true labor of love. When it came time to share our writing with others we made the decision to self-publish instead of approaching an agent. This book was written, edited and uploaded entirely by Kim and I. Even the cover idea was our vision but as the cover is one of the most important elements of a book, we chose to use a professional designer to pull our ideas into a dynamic polished product. We have always felt it was important to spend as much time as possible together and we bounce a lot of our ideas off each other while traveling and exploring new opportunities.
