Nonprofit and social marketing is geared toward furthering a cause, raising money or awareness and changing behavior. Students engage in an integrated Service Learning project where they help a local non-profit with their marketing efforts. Guided reflection, in-depth examples and guest speakers help students apply the material learned in the course.

Served 6 years for the Town of Jericho as member of the Selectboard, with regular turns acting as Chairperson. Responsible for overall town operations, including the municipal budget (total expenses ~$3.8 million annually), and all personnel issues for the town's 20 person administration. Regularly conducted town meetings, hearings, and public forums.

- Responsible for aesthetic and functional excellence of highly-trafficked website (more than 100,000 unique visits per month). - Developed petitions, opinion polls, social media feeds, live streaming events, interactive flash collages, and more.- Fashioned social media messages and created and updated numerous online channels for broadening the senator’s reach nationwide.- Delivered regular analytics & reports on the traffic and trends of all online activity.- Regularly shot, edited and produced videos of outreach events and speeches.- Created all constituent-focused materials including outreach for the Senator’s frequent Town Hall events; praised for high-quality design work on posters, flyers, brochures, newsletters (print and electronic), and web pages. - Maintained all IT systems (network, workstations, and software) for multiple offices throughout Vermont and in Washington, DC

Hired on a project freelance basis for Bernie’s race for the U.S. Senate to create posters, flyers, brochures, emails, logos, web properties and videos for campaign events around the state for the senator’s reelection efforts. Highlights of this portfolio include a series of ‘retro’ pop art style printed pieces for multiple fall events and a 10-minute video that highlights the grassroots nature of Bernie’s campaign and his appeal in our state.

Established successful multi-media subscription campaigns using direct mail, email, print ads, radio ads and telemarketing at the Shubert’s theaters in Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Philadelphia, resulting in over 13,000 new subscribers. Pioneered email marketing techniques for Telecharge.com (with a mailing list of over 150,000) generating instant, measurable results and a waiting list of Broadway shows wanting to participate. Designed a new logo and created a comprehensive B2B sales package for Shubert Ticketing Services that led to several high-volume accounts.

Conducted the marketing for all events of an arts organization presenting more than 60 live shows (classical music, early music, opera, theatre, jazz, and folk music), 40 films, and 6 special event fundraisers per season in a historic theater. Wrote, designed and/or produced countless advertisements, posters, newsletters, postcards, reports, brochures, press releases, flyers, and programs books. Effectively forecast and administered the budget, working to deliver targeted messages to the right audiences with limited funds.
