In my role as clinical scientist at Philips' MR division I am responsible for the long term clinical strategy for neuroimaging. This requires mapping of (unmet) clinical needs to possible technological solutions. I stay up-to-date with latest developments in the field of neuro MR both in the clinical and technical domain by visiting scientific conferences and being in contact with key researchers and clinicians in the field of neurological disease (neuroradiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons) around the world.In collaboration with marketing peers I work on strategic development of the MR neuroimaging portfolio, focusing on disease based concepts, technological & clinical feasibility studies with research partners as well as publication strategies to support our products. I have practical experience operating MR scanners, judging image quality and performing clinical and reproducibility studies.

PhD student in the field of MR Imaging and Spectroscopy. Research focus on hypoglycemia unawerness in diabetes patients; interest in development and application of MR sequences.In my research I aimed at uncovering the effects of low plasma glucose values (hypoglycemia) on the energy metabolism in the brain in vivo, by means of 13-carbon magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Measurements were performed in healthy volunteers and patients with type 1 diabetes. This research project was an intensive collaboration between technological (radiology) and clinical (internal medicine specialists) partners, which let to several oral presentations at leading conferences (ISMRM, EASD) as well as peer-reviewed high-impact scientific papers (JCI, Diabetes)PhD degree obtained at 5th of December 20122008-2010: Member of Clinical PhD Council
