I began with Douglas Company as a temporary employee as a support transcriptionist for the Director of Property Management which turned into a full time, permanent position in the Management Division. I moved from a supportive position to the Accounts Payable department where I performed all accounts payable for 30+ apartment complexes. Asked by the President of the company to move into the Development Division as administrative assistant, along with the duties of administrative assistant, I was also project manager for the subdivision department & then an apprentice as a Developer learning all aspects of development of affordable housing. As Developer Apprentice, I authored/composed cash flow analyses, development budgets, annual operating budgets, various types of applications for HUD, Rural Development and/or Federal Home Loan Bank financing in the forms of either grants and/or low-interest loans for construction of affordable housing, working with builders, architects, engineers, etc., on scheduling as well as draw requests & payments. I applied for LIHTC and HOME grants/loans for new projects. I filed quarterly reports as well as compliance monitoring reports. Other office skills include all phases of office work such as filing, written & oral communication, customer service, request for information, computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Publisher) Quickbooks, etc. Management Company closed. The Douglas Company moved to the SC Coast.
