I am a pioneering researcher who completed a research project into the biomechanics of cartilage. Producing innovative and creative solutions in the biomedical field is a true passion of mine, combining my engineering and research expertise with a love of person-centered design.In addition to being a creative thinker, my role as a PhD student required crucial self-motivation and advanced time management skills, as I completed my studies while working simultaneously as a journal specialist at Frontiers. I manage this by incorporating self-imposed deadlines and meticulous organization into every aspect of my daily routine. Not only do my PhD and full-time work require this level of planning and preparation, but so does my even bigger life commitment of being a mum!In addition to my forward-thinking nature, I am an adept on-the-spot problem solver. From maintaining the steadiness of a long-zoom camera in a hectic lab environment to coming up with inventive solutions for freezing a pig bone my creative thinking is quick, far-reaching, and enhanced by my calm demeanor.Throughout my academic collaborations, industry project experience, and role as a journal specialist, I have enjoyed working in conjunction with other people and possess a strong level of emotional intelligence. I am a valuable asset to any team environment and easily integrate with fellow colleagues.I recognize that dynamic solutions often emerge out of the combined efforts and ideas of multiple people, a message I instilled in the students I oversaw during my studies. I have fully embraced my teaching requirements and have conducted both theory classes and practical laboratory workshops. I have become a confident leader and believe the teaching of future engineers is just as important as innovative design work.
