Brought in to manage the start up of the Joint Venture (50/50) between Gerber and Corimon (a Venezuelan company) with full multifunctional and P&L accountability. • Increased sales from $3 million to $ 50 million in 10 years, despite a very difficult business environment with high inflation, devaluations, price controls and exchange controls.• Single-handedly developed and gained approval from the Board of Directors of both partners to the Business Plan and JV organization structure and successfully implemented these creative plans. • Successfully managed the cultural and business differences of the 2 partners. • Developed Gerber Venezuela into a fully fledged company with the establishment of its own Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing, two Sales Forces and Distribution systems (Food and Care) and offices. Built the organization from 1 employee, the General Manager, in 1992 to 200 by 1996.• Gained approval of the Board to make important investments despite the politically volatile and economically difficult environment: - The Yukery brand was purchased to build business and achieve market leadership. - A production plant was purchased and totally refurbished to produce Baby Food. - The Ovomaltina brand, company and production plant were merged into Gerber. - The OTC business was successfully incorporated in 2000.
