I was responsible for all hotel operations. This Hampton Inn has 142 guest rooms with annual gross room revenues in excess of $3,300,000. When I arrived for work the hotel was in administrative chaos. The hotel had received unsatisfactory scores in the last inspection from Hampton Inns, training records had been falsified by the last General Manager, and approximately $5,000 in airline billing vouchers were misplaced from accounts receivable. When I resigned the hotel had passed the last inspection, and all training courses for personnel were either completed or in compliance with the time completion dates assigned by Hampton Inns for newly hired employees. Over $3,000 in missing airline vouchers were found and submitted to the airlines for payment. I resigned my position because my family did not want to move to Philadelphia.

The Holiday Inn of Washington consisted of 76 guest rooms, the Holiday Inn of Kinston consisted of 100 guest rooms and the Holiday Inn of Atlantic Beach consisted of 114 guest rooms. I frequently served banquets for more than 150 guests and entertained political dignitaries. I personally supervised the accounting document preparation prior to the ledgers being submitted to the CPA and made any correcting journal entries which may have been required after the initial monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statements were completed by the CPA for my review.I satisfactorily completed the Holiday Inn General Manager program, served as a board member on the H.I. International Core Standards Committee, and on the H.I. Southeast Hotel Marketing Association.
