Project Delivery Manager (P.D.M.G.): as a contractor working for Luster National for the past 18 months, I have been working in the Austin FEMA office providing disaster relief work as a P.D.M.G. managing several projects i.e. private nonprofit (PNP) house of worship projects from the Exploratory Call, Recovery Scoping Meeting (RSM), Damage Inventory (D.I.), Damage, Description and Dimensions (DDD) along with applicant withdrawal when needed. Participated in preparation of Damage, Description and Dimensions for numerous project sites for the University of Texas at Austin. After reassignment to the Houston FEMA office in January, I was assigned multiple applicants, an Independent School District, a small city Emergency Protective Measures project, a City Police Department, a Chinese Community Center, a large Hospital System with multiple facilities. As a PDMG I served as the primary point of contact for my applicants, I provided customer service and programmatic assistance / guidance throughout the grant process. I facilitate coordination of the applicant’s documentation in order to develop projects and complete the grant process.

In January of 2015 I was appointed to the City of Corona Planning Commission by Councilman Randy Fox. This appointment will be the start of a new chapter in my volunteer activities. The Planning and Housing Commission is comprised of five members, all of whom shall be residents of the City and shall not hold any paid office or employment with the City. Members serve four-year terms. Each Council member appoints one member to serve concurrently with his/her term of office. As an independent contractor over the last 2 years I have learned a lot about the business of running a business. As a project management consultant I have been given many new opportunities to exercise my skills and talents. This sojourn into the business world has really opened my eyes to the problems and opportunities that this form of consulting service can provide. Not only did I have to manage all of the usual project management tasks but an additional layer of taxes, budgeting, invoicing and book keeping was added to the mix. I feel that this experience has provided me with a whole new perspective on architecture as both a business and a profession. One that I will carry forward with me in my future endeavors. As an independent contractor for David Y’Deen I was responsible for all aspects of the preparation of the working drawings for multiple elementary school modernizations. Including client contact, consultant coordination, design development, detail design, production documents, specification review, and DSA processing and clearance.

Experience Unlimited is a pilot program created under the umbrella of the California Dept. of Employment for mid to upper level job seekers. As a volunteer I was the Assistant Vice President for the administration group I provided organizational support by distributing information to the professionals seeking employment by assisting in the orientation and training programs offered by Experience Unlimited. My duties included coordinating meetings, assisting members, maintaining database, assisting and/or facilitating meetings.

Provided contract project management assistance for the preparation of working drawings for the First Chinese Baptist Church of Los Angles. Specific services included: design development, detailing and building sections, code review and governmental interface.
