Conducted a research project titled “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to Advance ToxPi Capabilities” in conjunction with the NIEHS Division of Translational Toxicology under the supervision of Dr. David Reif. Quantified AI’s ability to recreate, combine, and transform data from public databases while developing a chatbot framework to be integrated into ToxPi, a toxicological data analysis software. Presented on Retrieval Augmented Generation to the “AI in Toxicology Journal Club”. Competed in NIEHS Summer Intern Communication Challenge, presented at the NC State Summer Research Symposium and the NIEHS Division of Translational Toxicology Science Forum.

Conducted a literature review of regulatory documents related to Direct Potable Reuse. Started by looking into the legislative pathways that have been taken in California’s congress and the California Water Board (https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/) to promote the uptake of DPR systems in drought-stricken areas. Sought to understand how the presence of landscape pressures influences policy, using California as a case study. Furthermore, I researched NC’s current approach to DPR and IPR practices, and how those systems were legislated into existence.
