I grew up working with my hands on a horse ranch all the way through Clackamas Community College. Repairing stalls or fences on a limited budget required a certain ingenuity that I know is expected of engineers. Becoming a NASA aerospace scholar helped drive my passion for mechanical engineering. Transferring to OSU is where I really started to feel like an engineer. Joining the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics helped me connect with my peers to build rocket and drone designs. However, the MECOP program gave me more experience than any aspiring engineer could hope for.Totaling in twelve months of the internship experience, I have put most of those hours in the CAD software NX. I not only have experience working on the floor, communicating issues between operators and designers, but I also have experience drafting out designs for machining as well as plastic injection molding. I have been working at Hyster Yale for about 3 years now, designing with NX and gaining experience in the materials-handling industry. I also have been developing advanced NX applications and scripts through the use of NX Open in C#. I spoke on my work at Siemens' Realize Live 2024 in Las Vegas. I look forward to honing my skills in coding C#, mentoring my peers in the uses of NX, and furthering my knowledge and abilities as a mechanical engineer.
