Hi there. I'm a backend software engineer at Spotify. I specialize in creating and testing algorithms that help us sequence sets (think "playlists") at Spotify. These algorithms allow Spotify to balance multiple objectives, serving listeners, artists, and Spotify, all at once. They've also enabled a $500M+ monthly revenue stream for the company. I enjoy working across disciplines, teams, and timezones. I always get down to the "why" behind any product I'm a part of. I'm always down to talk about interesting concepts and products :)I am also a first-generation college graduate, a child of an immigrant and an adoptee, and someone who grew up in deep poverty. I experienced housing and food instability most of my life and am recovering from CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). It was extremely disorienting to enter college always having to prove I was worthy of existing (iykyk) and to exit college being treated with dignity by greater society because of the job title I now hold. These experiences shaped who I am and how I see the world. But first and foremost, I'm always open and honored to speak with others who walk similar paths in life.
