• Works with the Manager, Wraparound Services to perform campus and community needs assessment, find service providers, and troubleshoot challenges• Engages families and school staff to better understand student needs, develops and manages partnerships with local service providers, and participates in and learning from resource specialist community• Works with district, city, school, and the community to facilitate empowering events• Participates in professional development opportunities centered on development of wraparound directors to identify additional funding requirements• Coordinates student needs assessment and provider selection• Gathers input from community leaders during decision-making process• Collect and use needs and service provider data throughout wraparound program and share with district leaders• Supports school administration in making data-driven program decisions based on student data, (e.g., attendance, behavior, and coursework.)• Determines major needs of overall school community• Identify gaps in service provider database• Works directly with individual students in need and connects them with service providers• Follows up with students for feedback on provided services• Builds positive relationships and trust with principals, teaching staff, students, service providers, community leaders, and other resource coordinators

• Specialist work closely with family members and community organizations and resources to build a partnership that supports and engages them in the educational process for all students• Acts as a liaison and advocate for families• Works as a team with staff to plan and implement methods and techniques to increase parental and community involvement and engagement• Empowers and encourages families to make use of all identified resources as it relates to school and student wellness and academic success• Outlines clearly to parents school grading policies, results of assessments and student learning goals and available resources to support student success• Encourages parents and community organizations to become actively involved in all school activities, programs and tools (academic nights, family nights, PTA, Booster Club, Family Advocacy, student performances)• Contacts community partners and churches to set up a volunteer and mentor program (school supplies, tutoring, mentoring, etc)• Work as a team with the school leadership team, school counselor, Community in School representative and school nurse to assess, and support additional resources needed for students’ health concerns, special family needs and services• Establishes links and working relationships with appropriate service providers/community agencies• Attend and facilitate professional development opportunities as provided• Conduct home visits when needed with appropriate staff, to follow up on progress or make contacts when other means of communication/contact are lacking• Communicate with parents regularly regarding school activities, services, parental education sessions and school achievement• Work as a team with the school counselor to implement programs and activities that promote good study habits, additional learning opportunities and provide college and career preparedness for students• Serve as a member of the school improvement planning committee

• Serve as liaison between school and home, establish trusting relationships and a welcoming environment, and serve as a point of contact for families• Establishes and administers programs for targeting, recruitment, and retention of students for the district• Work directly with the campus principal to support parent outreach efforts that will impact student achievement; assist with Parental Involvement requirements• Assist parents and guardians in navigating the school system, assisting with awareness of available campus, district, and community social services and their attainment• Assist in identifying student and parent needs, work closely with school staff to coordinate services for students and families and provide community referrals to families, as needed• Coordinates and organizes campus activities• Organize opportunities for parents to share concerns and input regarding their children's educational needs• Collaborate and co-facilitate with administrators and teachers during parent and family involvement activities• Work with bilingual parents, guardians, and staff to ensure use of interpreter services as available for parent-teacher conferences, school meetings, and activities• Prepare outreach materials for distribution in language(s) of parents and guardians; ensure multilingual signs, bulletin boards, and other displays are visible at school entrance/lobby to welcome all parents and provide information• Conduct outreach activities, surveys, and coordinate parent involvement opportunities• Develop ongoing relationships with community-based and local faith-based organizations; articulate the school's mission to the community and solicit its support• Attend appropriate parent and family engagement trainings and meetings, Parent Teacher Association and other support meetings, and relevant meetings within the community, as assigned• Effectively recruit and retain parent/guardian volunteers
