From joining at 16 to working across two stores for 7 years, Waitrose has been the basis of my working life as a student. I have held professional standards and worked hard across multiple areas, keeping my development arc trending upwards. As a student, I have completed two degrees (BA & MA) and enjoyed all my learning on International Relations. Throughout I learnt extensive written communication, complex problem solving and presentation skills. Furthermore, since I started playing rugby at 8 years old until now, I have achieved some big milestones at university. Being elected as president in 2022 gave me the opportunity to give back. Over the course of the year the committee raised over £5000 for two charities (Movember & Give A Ruck) through fundraising campaigns within our club and externally. We also furthered our partnership with North Walsham who provided National 2 level coaching on a weekly basis. Several members of our club also achieved ‘colours awards’ from the university staff including myself being awarded club colours. Lastly, I grew as an individual because of members and others bringing personal or organisational problems to me on daily basis. I was able to help the club through negotiations with the student union, but more importantly help members individually with their personal problems because we had great infrastructure in place for members.
