In this post at Tynemouth Park, I have taken on a variety of exciting roles. There have been elements where I’ve had to undertake health and safety positions in regards to inflatables, and other times where I’ve just had to talk and act like a pirate! This is a very diverse job, which centres on customer service but has also elements of creativity and entertainment.

I have established myself as a private tutor advertising on both Superprof and locally via word of mouth. I started helping my sister during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the subjects that she was studying across Y7 to Y9, and have since expanded to tutor across different key stages. I tutor EYFS students with a primary focus in phonics, but I will also support them in numeracy and fine motor skills through games and other activities. I have also tutored SATs students and GCSE pupils in preparation for their exams across the board, through a mixture of discussion, homework help, and exam practice, and I am now advertising myself as a tutor for the A Level subjects that I have completed.

Within my parents’ business, I have undertaken many ad hoc roles which have allowed me to gain many transferable soft skills. I have been responsible for cleaning and preparing the apartments before guest arrivals which has allowed me to gain skills in regards to precision and an eye for detail in an efficient time frame; I have managed communications with guests from the point of booking to departure, including updating and managing adverts on third party booking systems like Airbnb. Additionally, I have created guides to local areas and events to support guests which has achieved strong visitor satisfaction, and I have developed organisational skills in the regular updates since I first created the guidebook in 2019.
