About Kristian Kolding Foged-Ladefoged
I am a passionated software craftsman and I always strive towards excellence. I do not believe in quick fixes and hacky solutions. I am dedicated to build the right solutions the correct way. The solutions that I design and implement are made to last with very little maintenance. The solutions are able to continue running even long after I have exited the projects. I am very detailed orientated and brilliant at idenfying odd edge cases in complex solutions and problem statements. I do this by analyzing the projects from all techical and business perspectives.I believe clean code is the most important trait of quality software. The code should easily be readable and thoroughly tested. Code that cannot easily be read is code that quickly becomes legacy code. Testing is key to ensure that solutions can have a long lifespan. I always develop solutions with high branch code coverage. Testing promotes confidence in the solutions. It makes it easy to introduce changes and new features without the fear of breaking existing functionality even for developers whom are not the original authors. I am an avid advocate and expert in event driven architecture. I have a proven track record of implementing event driven architecture in large scale distributed microservices with high throughput. I have experience with analyzing and profiling software to identify and solve performance issues before such issues occur in production. I believe in solving problems as a team. The team is there to analyze the problems together and come up with the solutions together. Everybody in the team should be involved in the process to avoid knowledge silos and to give everybody the oppotunity to learn and grow. The most important part in creating high performance teams is to develop trust in one another. The technologies that I am most passionate about are Java, Spring, and Kafka.
