I have been involved in the medical field for 33 years. My career in the medical field began as a certified athletic trainer providing services to high school and college athletes. My knowledge base was expanded by a surgeon who was happy to teach and allowed me to expand beyond the traditional duties of an athletic trainer. I was responsible for coordinating an educational meeting for orthopedic surgeons focused on arthroscopy and arthroscopic surgery. I managed a non profit research and education foundation. When the challenges of being an on the field athletic trainer became inappropriate I was able to transition my skills into an administrative position. I was an office manager for George C. Branche, III, M.D. at the Anderson Orthopedic Clinic, Arlington VirginiaI am deeply passionate about advocacy and policy and have volunteered to affect change for 15 years. I am a member of the Federal Activism Advisory Committee since 2014. I have been co-chair of our Governmant Relations Committee (GRC), and was a District Activist Leader (DAL) in Congressman Steny Hoyer’s district in Maryland. I was inducted into National Hall of Fame for Advocacy (NMSS) 2011 and was Ambassador of the year for the former National Capital Chapter in 2007.I participate as a member of the communications committee for iConquerMS™ The Communications Committee is responsible for oversight and advice to the Project Team’s activities to raise awareness about iConquerMS™. iConquerMS™ is part of a national research network called PCORnet, patient centered outcomes research network.
