Essential functions of this position:• Plan and administer workforce services for job seekers and businesses in Northern Illinois.• Work with the Deputy Director and team to develop, plan, and administer major components of the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, and other workforce programs. • Develop strategies for the delivery of industry/sector-based services in Northern Illinois Region which fall under trade assistance, rapid response, and layoff aversion.• Analyze statutes and regulations of programs funded within the Northern Illinois Region.• Work with industry associations and related groups focused on key industry sectors.• Support and guide local workforce boards and agencies regarding services for job seekers and employers.• Develop and implement related procedures for the coordination of services to the Northern local workforce areas.
