As a former Swift/Payments Officer at Bank Windhoek's International Operations Department, I can tell you that it was a challenging but rewarding role. I was responsible for processing and facilitating international payments and transactions through the Swift network. This included verifying and processing incoming and outgoing SWIFT messages, ensuring compliance with international regulations and the bank's policies and procedures, and resolving payment-related issues and discrepancies.My job required me to have a strong understanding of the Swift system, including the various message types, payment methods, and currency codes. I also needed to stay up-to-date with international banking regulations, compliance standards, and AML laws.One of the most challenging aspects of my role was the need to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. However, I found that my strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills helped me to excel in this fast-paced environment.
